Environmental Resource Centre
Establishment of a Resource Centre for conservation Education as paid of Endogenous Tourism Project at Aranmula. The Aranmula and if near by places are Background rich in cultural diversity. This area is a rich storehouse of great traditional wisdom on art and culture.
There is an urgent need for conserving our environment, heritage, culture and social ethos in the present, fast changing world. The erosion of social values lack of concern for our surroundings and the absence of the reference to the mother nature is the bane of our society.
To slow down the degradation of our inherited wisdom and lone for nature a wholehearted from the grass root level is essential. Initiative gradual and sustained efforts to reverse the degradation is to need of the hour. In this scenario, the relevance of an institutions or a platform to act as a rest.. and as a dissemination point is necessary. The present project envisages creation of such a resource centre which will act a common centre for collection and collation of locally available information of gra.. and craftsmen conservation methods, and indigenous locality specific techniques in arti.... conservation and preservation of inherited wisdom and information.
The proposed resource Centre for conservation Education (RCCE) will dissemunate the collected in the society especially to the specific target groups including children, women and policy makers. The local self-government institutions can act a positive channel utilising the .. information handed as from one generation to the other for the use of the society.
To nuture a responsible environement friendly generation, the centre is planning to near by organise amd revitalise the existing ones in our schools and collages. The schools in the unaided sector may also be included as a seizable number of students are studying in there schools.
There are indegenous artism techniques designs and other performing art forms associated with the rituals of a large number temples. There are also influenses of the churches and other religios-social organisations in the field of art and culture. Collection of the unorganised and many tims forgotten traditional art and culture forms is major proposed activity of the centre. Documentation through appropriate methods are essential for conservation of the inherited wisodm and art forms. Photography, audio and video recordings in this direction. Moreover, showeasing there through the various audio-visual media is a pre-requite to open a window to the world especially through internet. Extensive surveys and interviews are planned to achieve this objective. There are very peculiar art forms associated with the Holy River Pampa and various other centres of worship on the banks of the river. This will be a major highlight of the proposed project.

Competives, quizes, sponsory pf an heritage site by schools & students in their nearby places in collection its history heritage ...camps note will be organised for the school and collage students to visit and have a first-hand experience of heritage sites in the area. This will help awareness building and social mobilisation of local groups. Effects will be taken to spread messages for conservation of our common heritage will be passed onto various strata of the society.
